Salomi Prinsloo is preparing for her next exhibition in Stilbaai, Western Cape in December 2018 July 3, 2018 12:14

Most of my work as an artist does not happen in the studio. Before I put my hand to a canvas  I spend a huge amount of time in observation, interpretation and processing my experiences, thoughts and feelings. That was what I have been doing for the past 4 months, gathering information, and allowing it to crystallize into a clear picture of what the rhythm of the dance between myself and the creative process will take on this time. Now that this process was guarded and allowed to take its course in the sanctuary of my inner garden, I am ready to allow these inner pictures to take form and shape on canvasses, and to take on a life of their own. I am even more fascinated with the impact and power of light than before, and it will most certainly take a prominent place in my next exhibition.

For now I am enjoying the dynamics if the luminosity and internal light portrayed by the pigments, as they become both a source of light, as well as portraying light.  Fascinated by this process I am curious as to what path it will take this time.
